Aburüt Altith

[Ah-BOOR-oot ALL-tith]

A former Master Shepherd of the House of Korzhûn and Fîeron’s predecessor, and Nettherrose’s older brother. He died in mysterious circumstances, though ostensibly of old age, shortly before current events. 

 

Agüthsha Intoh

[Ag-GOOTH-sha INN-toe]

One of the three Títans of the Violet Accord during the War of the Six and a former member of the Keeping of Keismeb; she died when she released the Plague of the Bitter Hand. The discoverer of and the lead researcher into the ìkam. Half-human, half-eisorcei.

 

Akāsien Ttarvek

[Ah-CASE-SEE-enn T'TARR-veck]

A scholar and poet that took it upon themselves to travel throughout the various theaters of the War of the Six and record their impressions in verse. The Ttarvek War Poems is one of the most significant and comprehensive bodies of literary work pertaining to the war, and is notable for its perspectives from both factions. They died from the Plague of the Bitter Hand.

 

Amathara Acosaphaura

[AH-mah-THARR-ah Ah-KO-sah-FOW-rah]

A member of the Hidden Company under Iknaïs and accomplished kōza rider and marksman; Andras’ wife, Devatska and Eraleon’s daughter-in-law, and Kōtia’s mother. She went missing with Andras shortly after the War of the Six ended. Human.

 

Andras Acosaphaura

[Ahn-DRASS Ah-KO-sah-FOW-rah]

A member of the Hidden Company under Iknaïs and accomplished kōza rider and marksman; Amathara’s husband, Devatska and Eraleon’s youngest son, and Kōtia’s father. He went missing with Amathara shortly after the War of the Six ended. During his time with the Hidden he was known as ‘the Night Wind’. Human.

 

Aramastus Danig

[Ar-RAH-mass-TUS DAHN-igg]

A wingsmith and veteran of the Golden Itoqîr and Kivan Valnoc, currently a Warden at the Üstrarian Shogu Holding. He is a close family friend of Devatska and Eraleon and their sons, particularly Nelos; he has recently lost his wife Joqo and his daughter Jixcebi to the Bitter Hand. He wields a warhammer. Faun.

 

Baalas Fifu

[BA-lass FEE-fu]

A Minister-ranked priest of the Order of the Burning Crown at the Temple at Willowbreak Field and a moderately-skilled Cleric; he is Isaia’s superior. Human.

 

Brethoche

[BREH-thoch]

A mysterious, clandestine companion of Isaia at the Temple at Willowbreak Field. Eisorcei.

 

Brinnlas Sousan

[BRIN-las SOO-sann]

A retainer of the Reikhoul Family of the Keeping of Keismeb, and the former childhood friend, mercenary partner, and lover of Unliore. He is a fairly accomplished swordsman, wielding a falchion. Nae’cthosai.

 

Devatska Acosaphaura

[Deh-VAT-skah Ah-KO-sah-FOW-rah]

A former Assistant Warmaster of the Golden Itoqîr during the War of the Six, whose brilliance earned her the moniker ‘Shadow Warmaster’; she has since retreated into obscurity as a tinker in Korzhûn. She is also the inventor of enstreng and firearms, both of which were outlawed. Widow of Eraleon, mother of Andras, and grandmother and foster parent of Kōtia. Her kōza is Bashka. Human.

 

Eraleon Acosaphaura

[Eh-RAHL-ee-on Ah-KO-sah-FOW-rah]

A talented kōza rider and marksman of the Kivan Valnoc, and an Éba-ranked Razakîr of the Golden Itoqîr. Prior to his murder he was the husband of Devatska, father of Andras, and grandfather to Kōtia. He wielded a glaive. Human.

 

Esmaye Justica

[EZ-may JUST-ick-uh]

A popular and talented member of Kōtia and Fhalz’s graduating class who was killed in the Massacre of the 215th.

A member of the Eyes. Faun.

 

Fhalz Lathor

[FALss LAY-thor]

A recent top graduate of the Korzhûn Shogu Holding into the Mulîr, and Kōtia’s best friend. He has a near-eidetic memory and typically wields two long daggers. Human.

 

Fîeron Eburos

[FEY-run EY-boor-roes]

An Apprentice Shepherd at the House of Korzhûn and the ranking Shepherd in the capital. He is Phìdene’s younger brother, the only son of the Physiçias Eburos, and Isaia’s childhood friend. Human.

 

Hephin Moduut

[Heff'n Moh-DOOT]

The innkeeper of The Blushing Lioness in Korzhûn. Faun.

 

Hezath Zalesper

[Heh-ZATH ZAHL-iss-per]

One of the three Títans of the Violet Accord during the War of the Six, and the Head Tribesman of the Hezar tribe of Kiva; he died when Agüthsha released the Plague of the Bitter Hand at the peak of the Widow’s Siege.

 

Hynaeno Vitane

[HIGH-neh’no VIT-TAIN]

The daughter of Luiran, and both his political and blood successor in the Vitane Family of the Keeping of Keismeb. Unliore is most often within her retinue. She is a mix of faun, nae’cthosai, and human heritage.

 

Iknaïs

[Ick-NAY-iss]

The mysterious mercenary and former de facto leader and last living member of the Hidden Company of the Golden Itoqîr. He wields a battleaxe named Somil’feth’s Howl. He was given the honorary title of Jal after the War of the Six ended. He is suffering from the third stage of the Plague of the Bitter Hand. Human.

 

Iryck Marrowgleam

[EYE-rick Marrow-gleam]

The current leader of Gild Bloodgrove and its representative in the Keeping of Keismeb. Due to Gild Bloodgrove’s near-monopolistic strength, he is generally regarded as the de facto head of the Cartel. Ẽova.

 

Isaia Nenngeleich

[Iss-SAY-uh Nehn-GUHL-each]

A Servant-ranked priest of the Order of the Burning Crown at the Temple at Willowbreak Field, and a mildly-skilled Cleric. They are the childhood friend of Fîeron, and hide the strange company of Brethoche. Human.

[Jill-LOOL Uh-ZERR-ee]

A Prime of the Korzhûn Stewardship. Half ẽova, half human.

 

Jixcebi Danig

[Jicks-SAY-bee DAHN-igg]

Aramastus’ daughter, who died from the Plague of the Bitter Hand shortly before current events. Faun.

 

Jonna Biqare

[JOHN-ah Bih-CAH-ray]

One of the three Jal of the Pact of the Blessèd during the War of the Six, and the former Hand of the Earthborn Star of Íyr; a well-respected Üon’ethera of Elder rank besides. He returned to Pel-dohest after the war ended. Faun.

 

Joqo Danig

[JOH-KOH DAHN-igg]

Aramastus’ wife, who died from the Plague of the Bitter Hand in mid-1000AC. Faun.

 

Kaavius Springfist

[KAH-vee-us Spring-fist]

A former member of Gild Whitewell, a Master Provisioner in the Itoqîr, and a veteran of the Golden Itoqîr. A close friend of Unliore and an acquaintance of Devatska. He is a devout Crownist and a mildly-skilled Cleric. Ẽova.

 

Kōtia Acosaphaura

[Koh-TYAH Ah-KO-sah-FOW-rah]

A recent top graduate of the Korzhûn Shogu Holding into the Razakîr. Her parents are Andras and Amathara, and her grandparents are Devatska and Eraleon; her best friend is Fhalz. Her assigned kōza is Aensati, but her kōza at home is Saraphne. She wields a glaive. Human.

 

Kyesirtet

[K'YEE-sihr-TEHT]

A warlock living in Korzhûn. Her son, Szoxherce, was a top graduate killed in the Massacre of the 215th. Human.

 

Luiran Asmir-Vitane

[L'wee-RAN AZ-MEER - VIT-TAIN]

The current political head of the Vitane Family and the patriarch of the Vitane family proper, and consequently the representative of both in the Keeping of Keismeb. He is Unliore’s employer. Human.

 

Mhadan Ghuzneind

[MAH-DANN Gooz-NAYN-d]

A Jal of the Nalîr of the Itoqîr, a veteran of the Golden Itoqîr, and a devout Sehndist. She is friends with Orihne and the temporary superior of Phìdene. Nae’cthosai.

 

Marraël Aligsenndir

[MAHR-RAH-ell Al-IG-SEND-eer]

A Master Shepherd of the House of Pel-dohest and a devout Sehndist. Part nae’cthosai, part human.

 

Nelos Acosaphaura

[NEL-LOES Ah-KO-sah-FOW-rah]

The secondborn son of Devatska and Eraleon, and Aramastus’ best friend. He was a Prisa-ranked Razakîr of the Golden Itoqîr as well as a wingsmith, and died in suspicious circumstances during the War of the Six. Human.

 

Nettherrose Altith

[Net-her-ROSE ALL-tith]

The leader of the Pact of the Blessèd during the War of the Six and a former Prime of the Korzhûn Stewardship, and Aburüt’s younger brother. He abdicated and retreated into obscurity at the end of the war.  

 

Obékona Fýdi

[Oh-bay-CONE-uh FID-ee]

A Mentor-ranked Cleric and member of the Hidden Company of the Golden Itoqîr, led by Iknaïs. He died of injuries sustained during the Widow’s Siege. Nae’cthosai.

 

Orihne Basània

[Or-REEN Bah-SAHN-ya]

A former Jal-Nalîr of the Golden Itoqîr and a veteran of the Golden Itoqîr, currently the Chief Warden of the Korzhûn Shogu Holding. She is the estranged mother of the late Scedal-Títan of the Host of Selephise, and friends with Mhadan. Human.

 

Ornarin Acosaphaura

[Orr-NAR-rin Ah-KO-sah-FOW-rah]

The fourthborn son of Devatska and Eraleon. He was a member of the Üstrarian City Guard, and died in suspicious circumstances. Human.

 

Orron Tyreah

[OR-ron Tie-RAY-uh]

An Acolyte Shepherd at the House of Korzhûn; Fîeron’s subordinate. Human.

 

Ohni Kujan

[OH-nee KOO-jan]

The leader (Tíbat) of the Violet Accord and by association the Host of Selephise during the War of the Six, and a former member of Gild Firetalon. She was killed at the Widow’s Siege when the Plague of the Bitter Hand was released. Ẽova.

 

Phìdene Eburos

[Fih-DEEN EY-boor-roes]

An accomplished and well-loved Éba of the Qalîr division of the Itoqîr, and one of the youngest veterans of the Golden Itoqîr. She is Fîeron’s older sister and the only daughter of the Physiçias Eburos. Her valsar is Stormbane, and she wields a glaive. Human.

 

Physiçias Eburos

[Fih-ZICH-uh EY-boor-roes]

Martus and Biae Eburos, the parents of Phìdene and Fîeron. They are the Chief Physiçia of Üstraria and founders of The Eburos House. Human.

[Sah-LEESE]

An attendant at Kihmelza’s Bathhouse in the Underneath, Keismeb, and a friend of Unliore and Brinnlas. Nae’cthosai.

 

Scedal Basània

[Skeh-DAL Bah-SAN-ya]

One of the three Títans of the Violet Accord during the War of the Six, and the estranged son of Orihne; he took his own life shortly after the release of the Plague of the Bitter Hand. Human.

 

Shedrogard Affenblau

[SHED-roh-GARD AFF-en-blauh]

One of the three Jal of the Pact of the Blessèd during the War of the Six, and formerly the head of the Affenblau Family of the Keeping of Keismeb. He was killed in a skirmish following the release of the Plague of the Bitter Hand. Nae’cthosai.

 

Sippoë Bahebb

[SIP-OH-way BAH-hebb]

An Acolyte Shepherd at the House of Korzhûn; Fîeron’s subordinate. Part faun, part human.

 

Sylevinia “Sylvie” Steamsong

[Sill-VEEN-ya / Sill-VEE]

A kōza rider of Memboti’s military, a former member of Gild Whitewell, and Kaavius’ lover until her death at Xa’aroch’s hand. Ẽova.

 

Talo’eran Elbusgar

[TAY-low-err-RAN Elb-oos-GAR]

A mercenary, assassin, and member of the Hidden Company of the Golden Itoqîr, led by Iknaïs. He died of the Plague of the Bitter Hand some years after its release. Nae’cthosai.

 

Terbias Çuun

[TER-bee-us SUNN]

One of the three Jal of the Pact of the Blessèd during the War of the Six – though his official rank was Tothjal – and a former Jal-Nalîr of the Itoqîr. He was killed in the Widow’s Siege when the Plague of the Bitter Hand was released. Human.

 

Tesperu Acosaphaura

[TESS-per-ROO Ah-KO-sah-FOW-rah]

The thirdborn son of Devatska and Eraleon. He was a Prisa-ranked Nalîr of the Golden Itoqîr, and was killed in the Tikkiss Skirmish. Human.

[Th'AIR-too Hann-MOH]

An Acolyte Shepherd at the House of Korzhûn; Fîeron’s subordinate. Part nae’cthosai, part ẽova.

 

Tharseas Acosaphaura

[Tharr-SEE-us Ah-KO-sah-FOW-rah]

The firstborn son of Devatska and Eraleon. He was an Éba of the Nalîr of the Golden Itoqîr, and was killed in the Tikkiss Skirmish. Human.

An Acolyte Shepherd at the House of Korzhûn; Fîeron’s subordinate. Part ẽova, part human.

 

Unliore Jrei’ein

[Unn-LEE-orr DREY-eye’n]

A Fiîr veteran of the Golden Itoqîr, currently a retainer of the Vitane Family of the Keeping of Keismeb. She is a close friend of Kaavius, and the former childhood friend, mercenary partner, and lover of Brinnlas. She is accompanied by Qeco, a loïka, and Harathsi, a mistowl, as pets. She specializes in Rel and is of Mentor rank. Nae’cthosai.

 

Vil’rabenen Sisters, the

[Vill-ruh-BENN-inn]

In order of age: Joibri, Saraphne, and Nerise. Ethera members of the Hidden Company of the Golden Itoqîr, led by Iknaïs. Joibri specialized in Rel and Üon, while Nerise and Saraphne specialized in Üon. All three died prior to current events: Joibri in battle, and Saraphne and Nerise from the Plague of the Bitter Hand. Xa’aroch

[Zah-arr-ROCH]

One of the few Azgorach to have escaped the Banishing following the end of the War of the Six, he was the first of his kind to have been successfully summoned by warlocks from the otherworld. His indenturement caused him to convince others of his kind to cross over, creating the Azgorach Horde and earning him the title ‘the Door-Opener’. Ba’athorog.

 

Xo Ragehand

[ZOH Rage-hand]

A mercenary and member of the Hidden Company of the Golden Itoqîr, led by Iknaïs. He died during the Widow’s Siege. He wielded a flail and sword. Faun.
